R U OK? Day events at Western, 8th September.

R U OK? Day is a National Day of Action across Australia, and reminds us to take time to check-in with our friends, family and colleagues and ask R U OK?

On 8th September, Western will be hosting a range of free events on across all campuses and online for staff and students.

Share a conversation over morning tea, pat a therapy dog, get creative with craft activities or kite making or relax with musical performances, a 3 minute massage and more.

Visit the Wellbeing page for the full list of events.

Ways to ask your peers R U OK?

Everyone plays a role in creating a culture where people feel connected and supported. As students and staff you are well-positioned to notice changes in a peer's behaviour that might indicate they’re going through a tough time.

Trust your gut and prioritise checking in with a peer you may be concerned about, especially around exam time.

Young people are most likely to talk to friends or family members as the first step in seeking support when they’re struggling.
