Undergraduate students

Eligibility: Western Sydney University students currently enrolled in Bachelor's degrees (including those requiring graduate entry), Western Sydney University The College students and all non-award programs offered by the University

Eligibility: Western Sydney University students currently enrolled in Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma, Undergraduate Honours, Masters and Doctoral degrees offered by the University.

Staff

Eligibility: All current fulltime and part time Western Sydney University staff. See Relevant Sub-Category

  • University Board of Trustees – All non-staff members of the University's Board of Trustees.
  • University Honorary Appointments - All persons currently in University Honorary Appointments
  • Service Agreement Staff - All current staff of educational institutions under Service Agreements to which the University Library is a party. (e.g Nirimba Education Precinct high school staff).

Note: Third Party Provider (TPP) staff are not eligible for Document Delivery. Staff, including TPP staff, are not eligible for Distance Services.

Alumni

Eligibility: Western Sydney University graduates and ex-staff registered for library privileges with the Alumni Association.

Distance students

Eligibility: All currently enrolled Western Sydney University and Western Sydney University The College students with a semester residential address located outside the Sydney metropolitan area but within Australia are entitled to postal loans for books from University Libraries.

Distance Services excludes the following Sydney metropolitan area postcodes ranges of 1000 - 1920, 2000 - 2249, 2500 - 2574, 2740 – 2786

Reciprocal (ULANZ)

Eligiibilty: Non-Western Sydney University Staff and Students. eligible under ULANZ, or other reciprocal agreements to which the University Library is a party.

Western Sydney University participates in the University Libraries of Australia and New Zealand (ULANZ) reciprocal borrowing scheme that allows staff and students of participating member universities to obtain borrowing privileges from other participating university libraries. Open University students are not eligible for membership under the ULANZ scheme

A new application is required each year. Annual membership and borrowing privileges expire February 28 of the following year.

ULANZ is a borrowing agreement only and members will have access to Western's physical collections. It does not include Document Delivery, access off-campus to eResources or access to Study Hall.

Reciprocal loan conditions apply to this membership, including fees and penalties. Liability for late fees or costs incurred for materials which are returned late, lost or damaged remains with the borrower. Infringements at Western Sydney University libraries may result in sanctions at the borrower's home library. For more information, contact the Library.

How to Register

A registration fee of $50 (incl. GST) applies for students. Payment must accompany the registration application and can be made online via OneStop. The University Library DOES NOT accept cash.

Service Agreement Students

Eligibility:All current students of educational institutions under Service Agreements to which the University Library is a party (e.g.Nirimba Education Precinct high schools).

Borrowing privileges are provided to members of the Nirimba Education Precinct high schools as outlined in the current Borrowing Service Agreements.

Community

Eligibility: Members of the public, for example, residents of the Greater Western Sydney Regions defined by the University.

*The Greater Western Sydney Region encompasses the thirteen local government areas of Blacktown City, Blue Mountains City, Camden Council, Campbelltown City, the City of Canterbury Bankstown, Cumberland Council, Fairfield City, Hawkesbury City, Liverpool City, the City of Parramatta, Penrith City, The Hills Shire and Wollondilly Shire.

Membership fee applies.

Note: individuals under 18 years of age require written parental/guardian authorisation.

Community membership is a borrowing agreement only and members will have access to our general physical collections. Corporate memberships

Companies interested in corporate borrowing may register their interest via our online form.

Borrowing privileges are valid for 12 months from the date of joining. A new application is required each year.  A membership charge of $200 applies.
