Studying in the Library
Library etiquette

The Library is a space for everyone to use, so consider others and act respectfully when using the Library. Be aware of the noise level limits in different areas of campus libraries like the silent study and quiet study zones. The university is a smoke-free and vape-free zone.  The Library Code of Conduct outlines the behaviours from which clients are asked to refrain whilst within the Library.

The Library rules supplement the Library Loans Policy and Code of Conduct for Library clients.

For concerns about noise and behaviour, contact Library staff or Campus Safety and Security.

Which Library study space is right for me?

The Library provides a variety of study spaces to suit the way you prefer to study. Each campus has shared, open study areas and student group study rooms for collaborative work, while quiet and silent spaces allow for focused study. Each area is designed to meet different study needs and has accompanying noise limits.

Book a Student Group Study Room

Each campus library offers group study rooms for collaborating on projects, studying with other students and for practicing presentations.

These rooms are bookable online by University students with a current WesternAccount. Find out more information, room rules and how to book.

To report booking conflicts or other problems, please see the staff at the Service desk at your campus library or contact the Library.
