Research Publication Collection

The Library collects publications for the purposes of internal reporting and the University’s Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA) submission which is prepared by Research Engagement, Development & Innovation (REDI). The library audits publications against the retrospective 2015 Higher Education Research Data Collection (HERDC) guidelines, however the HERDC return no longer includes publications. Non-traditional research outputs (creative works and research reports) are audited against the ERA guidelines.

A chart outlining how publications flow from the Library to other University systems can be found here.

Traditional & non-traditional research outputs must meet the Australian Research Council’s definition of research (p. 9) to be eligible for reporting. All publications that fall within Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA) categories will appear in ResearchDirect, the Portal and Staff Profiles, but only publications that meet the Government guidelines will contribute towards research activity points.

As the library harvests publications from Scopus, Web of Science and Google Scholar, please check ResearchDirect before submitting your publication.
