January System Updates

Western ITDS and our external vendors undergo regular, scheduled IT upgrades and maintenance to ensure platform security and continuous improvement to all of the Library digital services. Regular maintenance periods are scheduled to minimise the impact on the vital operations to all students and staff. Thank you for your understanding, while we undertake this essential system maintenance.

System notifications for this month are:

Friday 15th January: ResearchDirect Outage
Between 1am - 6am on Friday 15th January, the ResearchDirect platform will undergo system updates. There will be disruptions to accessing the platform during this timeframe and as a result staff and researchers will not be able to submit publications into the Library's ResearchDirect repository system.

Sunday, 31st January: ProQuest Outage
There will be worldwide maintenance on the ProQuest platform, which will result in the following outages for Library services:

  • ProQuest; 2 pm - 10 pm
  • Ebook Central (including textbooks); 2 pm - 4 pm
