Membership

Members of the public are able to borrow from the Western Sydney University Library under the following membership arrangements.

Please note: Library membership does not include Document Delivery, Intercampus requests, borrowing Reserve Collection material or access to the Library's electronic resources unless otherwise specified.

Community Members

Eligibility

Members of the public.
Note: individuals under 18 years of age require written parental/guardian authorisation.

Duration of borrowing privileges

Borrowing privileges are valid for 12 months from the date of joining. A new application is required each year.

Access and Loan conditions

Community membership is a borrowing agreement only and members will have access to our general physical collections. It does not include access to Reserve Collections, Document Delivery, Intercampus requests or access to electronic resources.

Community loan conditions apply to this membership, including fees and penalties. Liability for late fees or costs incurred for materials which are returned late, lost or damaged remains with the borrower. For more information contact the Library.

The University Library DOES NOT accept cash.

Corporate Members

Companies interested in corporate borrowing may register their interest via our online form.

Please note: this membership is subject to approval by the Director of Library Services.

High School Members

Borrowing privileges are provided to members of the Nirimba Education Precinct as outlined in the current Borrowing Agreements. Contact the Library for further information.

Other High Schools interested in a borrowing agreement should contact the Library for further information.

Non-WSU University Staff and Students

Western Sydney University participates in the University Libraries of Australia and New Zealand (ULANZ) reciprocal borrowing scheme that allows staff and students of participating member universities to obtain borrowing privileges from other participating university libraries.

Note: Open University students are not eligible for membership under the ULANZ scheme.

Duration of borrowing privileges

Reciprocal borrowing privileges are valid until February 28 of the following year. A new application is required each year.

How to Register
  • Complete an online registration form
  • Visit a campus library with photo ID and proof of enrolment or employment from your home institution
  • A registration fee of $50 (incl. GST) applies for students. Payment must accompany the registration application and can be made online via OneStop
