The Library Reimagined - Library Strategy 2025-2027
When we set out to develop Western Sydney University Library’s next strategy, we knew it had to be shaped with our people – not just for them.
Building on the work that came out of our 2022 Library Reimagined Project, we asked big questions about our purpose, our value and our role in a changing world. Most importantly, we made sure every voice was heard.
This strategy is a result of those conversations, shaped through lived experience and collective insight. It answers the questions ‘why?’ and ‘what?’. And offers a shared direction and a flexible foundation – one that is able to adapt to the rapidly shifting needs of our students, emerging technology and the priorities of the University.
Library Indigenous Strategy 2024-2025
As a centre for knowledge, learning and inclusivity on our campuses, the Library sees many opportunities to embrace and engage with Indigenous knowledges and ways of knowing to support the Western Sydney University Indigenous Strategy.
This Library Strategy is structured around the seven strategic priorities as articulated in the University Indigenous Strategy. Implementing the strategic objectives outlined in this strategy will also position the Library to engage with and support the storytelling hub/library within the Indigenous Centre of Excellence opening at Parramatta in 2026.
Library Indigenous Strategy Annual Report 2024
The Library introduced it’s Indigenous Strategy in 2024, structured around the seven strategic priorities as articulated in the University Indigenous Strategy. The objectives and measures spoke to the Library role in embracing, promoting and engaging with Indigenous knowledges and ways of knowing.
To ensure our Strategy is a living document and more than words on paper, continual focused work and reporting on progress against our targets in each of these areas is essential. We are thus pleased, and excited, to provide this report on the 2024 progress towards achieving each objective.
