Undergraduate

  • 30 items at any one time

Higher degree students

  (PhD, Masters (Hons and Coursework), GradDip, GradCert, Ugrad Hons)

  • 60 items at any one time
  • 28 day loan
  • 28 day renewal periods, up to a maximum of 168 days from the initial renewal date
  • Late fees apply

Staff

  • 100 items at any one time
  • 56 day loan
  • 56 day renewal periods, up to a maximum of 336 days from the initial renewal date
  • Suspension for overdue items /late fees apply to recalls

External students

  • 60 items at any one time
  • 28 day loan
  • 28 day renewal periods, up to a maximum of 168 days from the initial renewal date
  • Late fees apply

Eligible students registered with the Disabilities Co-ordinator

  • 60 items at any one time
  • 28 day loan
  • 28 day renewal periods, up to a maximum of 168 days from the initial renewal date

Alumni Borrowers

  • 30 items at any one time

Community, Corporate and Reciprocal Borrowers

  • 30 items at any one time

Reserve Room materials

  • 2 hours only
  • 2 items may be borrowed at a time
  • Late fees $2 per item per hour or part thereof

Electronic Devices

Electronic devices are available for loan to current Western Sydney University staff and students. Laptops are available from the Service Desk at the Bankstown, Campbelltown, Hawkesbury, Parramatta South, Parramatta City Campus and Penrith libraries. Please ask staff for details.

Electronic device loans count towards your total borrowing limit

  • Electronic devices may be borrowed for a period of up to 3 hours and are not eligible for renewal
  • Late fees $10 per hour or part thereof, immediately following the due date and time
  • One device only may be borrowed by any one person at any one time
  • Electronic devices cannot be reserved
  • Electronic devices are available for loan from Library opening, until 30 minutes prior to closing
  • No overnight loans are available
  • Electronic devices are to be handed to staff at the Library Service Desk on their return. Return must be at the same library where borrowing occurred
  • Borrowers are completely responsible for the safety of the electronic device.
  • Borrowers will be held liable for replacement charges of lost, stolen or damaged equipment. Full replacement cost of the electronic device will be at market value
  • Charges for damages will be at the discretion of the Library

Checking your Library record

Clients can login to My Library to:

  • review items on loan and their due dates
  • renew items on loan
  • view the status of requested items
  • review any outstanding fees

Courtesy notices are sent to your Western Sydney University mailbox to alert you to:

  • library items due for return
  • requested  items available for collection
  • overdue items/fees

Please check and clear your Western Sydney University student email account regularly to take full advantage of this service.

Renewing borrowed items

Most items have renewals available. Items may be renewed on or before the due date in the following ways:

  • by logging into My Library and renewing online
  • via the Self Service  Machine (please note the due date on the receipt issued)
  • by phone or at the Service Desk if assistance is required during opening hours

    Restrictions:
    Electronic devices, Reserve collection material, recalled items, items with a request and overdue items are not renewable. Clients must ensure they have no overdue items and that any outstanding fees are below $10 in order to renew items.
